Also in this September, the Kia Cerato model is also kept at a preferential rate of 45-70 million VND. Similarly, other sedan models are also favored by dealers with many different programs.

Exciting sedan segment According to VAMA, in August, sales of the sedan segment were at a record low of only 2,139 units, down 48.5% compared to July, accounting for 34.3% of passenger cars sold in the market. However, considering the whole market, the sedan segment (including B and C grades) is still more vibrant than other segments. According to experts, in the Vietnamese market, this segment accounts for a large number, and is also a segment chosen by many users, so sedan models are more exciting. In particular, the ranking of best-selling B and C-segment sedans in August has witnessed many disturbances. Most notably, Mazda 3 has replaced the Mitsibishi Attrage in the top 5. Hyundai Accent has reclaimed the second position of Kia Cerato, and closely followed rival Toyota Vios. Specifically, in August, Toyota’s B-class sedan sold 987 units, down 26.5% compared to July (with 1,344 units). Currently, Toyota Vios is assembled domestically with a total of 6 versions, an increase of 1 special version (Vios GR-S) compared to before. Vios 2021 is equipped with a 1.5L engine, 5-speed manual transmission or stepless automatic.

The selling price of this model is ranging from 478 to 638 million VND. In second place is Hyundai Accent with sales of 712 units, down 27.5% compared to July. Accumulating 8 months of 2021, Hyundai Accent has sold 11,644 units, still closely following Toyota Vios. Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, from the end of February until now, car dealers have been racing to reduce prices to revive the gloomy market in terms of purchasing power. In which, many dealers of Kia, Mazda, Ford or Toyota and Hyundai implement many preferential and discount policies, especially discounts for key car models. Hyundai Accent is still TC Motor’s most popular model. Currently, Hyundai Accent 2021 is still assembled domestically and distributed with 4 versions, using a 1.4L engine with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The versions of Accent have a list price from 426 to 542 million VND. This is Hyundai’s best-selling model in Vietnam Last August, Kia Cerato only achieved sales of 393 units, down more than 61% and surpassed by Hyundai Accent in this top. However, Kia Cerato is still the number one name in the C-segment sedan segment. Cerato is currently locally assembled by THACO with 4 versions including 1 manual version using 1.6L engine and 3 automatic versions using 1.6L and 2.0L engines. The selling price of Cerato is ranging from 544 to 685 million VND. The next model is Honda City with sales of only 159 units, down 54.2% compared to July (with 347 units). Cumulative sales in the first 8 months of the year, Honda City reached 6,015 units, quite far from two competitors in the same segment, Toyota Vios and Hyundai Accent. Mazda 3 sales are not too outstanding when only sold with 103 units to customers. Other sedan models have the following sales: Mazda 2 sedan: 86 units, Mitsubishi Attrage: 69 units, KIA Soluto: 68 units, Hyundai Elantra: 64 units, Toyota Corolla Altis: 18 units.
